Coaching by Julie
Colwell, Ph.D.
My emphasis is on facilitating my clients’
growth through their own deep knowing. I offer my
presence, powerful tools of transformation, and a
steadfast view of my clients as whole. To this end,
I love to work with folks who are looking to empower
themselves. I coach my clients in developing the following:
- Complete access to emotional experience
and expression;
- Personal integrity;
- Taking responsibility for creating
their own life circumstances;
- Willingness to create change easefully
and playfully.
I
received my Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the
University of Colorado in 1988 and have been licensed
as a psychologist in Colorado since 1991. Since beginning
with a psychodynamic/systems perspective, I have shifted
my emphasis to a much more body-centered orientation.
Though I was trained to be rather traditional (learning
to assess and diagnose), I now find that orientation
to create a one-up, one-down relationship with clients
that actually obstructs real change. I now operate
from a position of facilitator, supporting you to
discover your essential self and your own true power.
I generally work in a framework of 50-55 minute sessions,
and am happy to create a structure that works for
you (longer or shorter sessions).
Because using insurance requires giving you a diagnosis,
and so starting with a frame of psychopathology (which
is not how I see you), I do not accept insurance.
Please call me at 303/449-5417 to set up an initial
consultation.
