Adding More Play to your
Life
Play: To take part in enjoyable
activity;
to do something for fun
1. First, take 2-3 slow, deep belly breaths. Let
your body move around in a fluid, easy way as
you do a body inventory. Where are there glitches
in your body? Where does it flow and feel alive?
2. As you're breathing and moving, wonder "Do
I want more play in my life?" (If the answer
is No, you can go back to work now.)
3. Continue to be in this open posture of wondering
(more breathing, more moving) as you consider
this: how do I know I'm playing? Here are some
possibilities:
| |
* I feel ease and flow in my body
* I'm fully engrossed in what I'm doing;
I have a sense of timelessness
* There's an absence of judgment
* I am laughing or smiling
* There is no effort |
4. List ten activities that you remember participating
in where you felt that sense of play:
5. From your list in #4, circle those that you've
done in the past week.
6. List 10 activities that you've watched others
do that look fun to you:
7. From #4 and #6, list anything you'd like to
do more of in the next week:
8. Finally, here's a question to carry with
you:
What can I do right
now to create more fun for myself and the
people around me?
